Rosie Shultz

she/her

Rosie is a senior from Ruston, LA, who currently attends the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. She currently serves as Chair of Louisiana High School Democrats. Rosie has always had a passion for encouraging political involvement, especially in younger generations. Rosie has been an active member of LAHSD since her sophomore year. During her junior year, she served on the LAHSD Executive Board as Communications Director. Outside of LAHSD, Rosie is the Student Government Organization Executive President at LSMSA. She has participated in multiple All-State Choirs and over 22 productions with Ruston Community Theatre. In her free time, Rosie enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles and learning about music theory.

Chief of Staff

Devika Dua

she/her

Devika is a senior at Cedar Creek School, and is currently serving as the Chief of Staff for the Louisiana High School Democrats. She has a kindling passion in public policy and advocacy after attending ALA Girls Nation in July 2022, where she had the opportunity to participate in mock senate sessions, learn about the intricate structure of the U.S. government through mock elections, and network with legislative officials. She is also Louisiana DECA’s Vice President of Leadership, in which she has started, lead, and participated in various initiatives, including those pertaining to chapter and membership engagement. Beyond that, Devika enjoys interning at several research labs, going on spontaneous Starbucks runs, and discovering new music.

Programs Director

Nathan Price

he/him

Nathan currently serves as Programs Director for the Louisiana High School Democrats. He is a senior from the Central Region and has always had a passion for government and politics, especially when it comes to getting younger citizens involved in the goings-on of their government. Nathan founded and presides over his local chapter and serves in several other organizations, notably as the State President of the Louisiana District Anchor Club and as Drum Major for his school’s band where he plays trumpet and trombone. In college, he plans to earn degrees in Theatre Education and Educational Leadership, eventually getting involved in educational policy and reform in the United States.

Communications Director

Emma Cecchini

she/her

Emma is a senior at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. She grew up in Denham Springs, LA, and has been an active member of HSDA since her sophomore year. This year, Emma is thrilled to serve as both the secretary for her school’s HSDA chapter and as the state Communications Director for LAHSD. Emma is passionate about spreading knowledge about our government and the happenings of the Democratic Party. She believes it is important for all Louisiana citizens to understand that their voice matters. Outside of HSDA, Emma loves to play the trumpet. She has been in band since the 6th grade and has participated in multiple honor bands. She is the President of the Philosophy Club and serves as the LSMSA Senior Class Vice President.

Political Director

Olivia Marant

Olivia currently serves as Political Director for the Louisiana High School Democrats. They are a sophomore from the Southern Region and have always valued staying educated about current situations and issues within our government. Olivia has been a dedicated band student, participating in school, community, and state performance groups on a variety of instruments, while also staying active as a member of other extracurricular activities such as the National Beta Club and Quiz Bowl. After high school, they plan to earn degrees in the medical field, with an end goal of becoming an emergency trauma surgeon.

Northern & Central Louisiana

Noelle Wilkinson

she/her

Noelle currently serves as Northern and Central regional director for the Louisiana High School Democrats. She is a senior from the Central Region and has always had a unique perspective for government and politics because she was raised in a conservative household. Noelle is involved in several other organizations, notably serving as Brass Captain for her high school’s band where she plays mellophone and french horn. She also serves as team captain for her high school’s soccer team. In college, she plans to study aeronautical engineering and eventually work for NASA or the United States Armed Forces.

Southern Louisiana

Jared Lane

he/him

Jared is LAHSD’s Regional Director for the Southern Region. He is a member of the West Feliciana High School Football Team and currently serves as the President of the Young Democrats of West Feliciana. He joined the Louisiana High School Democrats to make his vision of a progressive Louisiana a reality! He absolutely loves helping people and enjoys several sports (his favorites are football and tennis). Jared looks forward to changing Louisiana for the better as a member of LAHSD’s leadership team this year.
